About Big Dollar Casino |

Short Description
|
: |
Big Dollar Casino, upon your first visit, appears to be like many other online casinos powered by Microgaming software (does the same guy's voice have to be welcoming you on every single casino site?). You've got the option of the downloadable casino program or playing in the Flash casino in your browser and the usual Microgaming slots and casino table games are here. Upon closer inspection, however, you'll find that Big Dollar Casino offers NO sign-up bonus and that the minimum you can deposit is $30 - unlike most virtual casinos, which allow you to put in only $20. Big Dollar Casino, operated under the Liberty Entertainment Casinos banner, which is licensed under the Kahnawake Indian tribe's jurisdiction in Canada, claims it makes up for all of this by rewarding the "loyal" - i.e. heavy - online gambler five times more than other online casinos. The point, however, is that you have to put a lot in to get anything out - so, I suppose, if you have an insane gambling problem, this is the place for you!

Long Description

Big Dollar Casino, upon your first visit, appears to be like many other online casinos powered by Microgaming software (does the same guy's voice have to welcome you on every single casino site? The really sad part is I think I've worked with him!). You've got the option of the downloadable casino program or playing in the Flash casino in your browser and the usual Microgaming slots and casino table games are here. Looks, however, can be deceiving and, on closer inspection, you'll find some important differences.
Big Dollar Casino - It's What's Upfront That Counts
The first thing I do when entering an online casino is find out about the sign-up bonus before I register as a real, i.e. money-wagering, player. That way I know how much I need to deposit and where I need to apply for the bonus afterwards. As you can tell, I take it for granted they're going to give me SOMETHING for choosing their online casino gambling site over a gazillion others. Well, at Big Dollar Casino I found nothing. So I sent an email to Big Dollar Casino's support people (the support consists of email and a toll-free number; live chat only when you're in the "bank"). About an hour or so later, I received a reply telling me, cheerfully, "We believe in rewarding our players every time they play - not just when they join." Okay. But then... "As a new player, you will enjoy a lifetime of rewards..."
Well, if I'm there for a lifetime, I'm not a new player any more, am I? Bottom line is Big Dollar Casino claims to reward you with five times more bonus points as you play than other online casinos - and most of their promotions do tend to focus on rewarding the broke...er, I mean, loyal...customer. Unfortunately, you do have to make a heavy investment to start cashing in.
Big Dollar Casino - Mo' Money, Mo' Money
The OTHER disturbing thing is that while most online casinos require a minimum deposit of $20, Big Dollar Casino requires a $30 deposit. I immediately took $20 of that right back out - I'll show them! - but with the delay these casinos traditionally put on your withdrawals, I wouldn't have that money back for a couple of days - and that's burrito money, Jack! It's clear that Big Dollar Casino wants more money and more gambling out of you than most online casino gambling sites. I personally don't see where it's worth giving them that advantage.
Big Dollar Casino - Less Money, Less Money
One good thing about Big Dollar Casino, for the more timid gamblers among us, is that it has just introduced Penny Slots. A big help if you don't like having to put a dollar down every time you push the SPIN button - again, you don't want to lose all your burrito money. Other than that, Big Dollar Casino's game fare is very standard with not a lot of special promotions beyond their player rewards programs. There are a few large progressive slot jackpots trumpeted - no progressive poker, blackjack or other table games - and no real casino contests advertised.
Big Dollar Casino's overall feel is a little more low-key than most, perhaps because they don't feel they have a lot to shout about here. It's a little undernourished. Big Dollar Casino lacks a lot of variety within the traditional casino games (what, no European blackjack???). Casino game play itself is as usual with the Microgaming set-up. It's smooth and professional, you win a little, you lose a little. I worked my ten dollars for an hour or so doing small bets, never really getting beyond the ten-spot and slooooowly using it all up. When I was done, I checked to see how many points I earned, since I had been a loyal player for over sixty minutes. The answer was none.
Big Dollar Casino - Who are These Guys?
Big Dollar Casino is a BrightShare affiliate operated under the Liberty Entertainment Casinos group, which is licensed under the Kahnawake Indian tribe's jurisdiction in Canada. I think that means whenever someone asks who owns it, everyone points at someone else. With a higher entrance deposit than most and no sign-up bonus, I'd say the only reasons to come to this online casino are to work the penny slots or if you want to just be rewarded for having an insane gambling problem. There's nothing particularly wrong with Big Dollar Casino, but there's no compelling reason to choose to casual-gamble here either.
